Prodigal Coffee
🇨🇴 Colombia
Estate
Finca Llano Redondo
Background
Third-generation family farm in Buesaco, Nariño, one of Colombia's most celebrated high-altitude coffee regions. Jesús Ángel López has managed the farm for over 14 years, supported by InConexus, an organization helping smallholder farmers access specialty markets. His father Angel Maria López Loaiza previously competed in Cup of Excellence, placing with a score of 90.25.
At 2,000–2,100m, the volcanic soils, intense equatorial UV, and slow cherry maturation from altitude produce dense, complex cup profiles. The farm primarily uses washed processing — cherries de-pulped, fermented for 48 hours, then dried on semi-shade canopies for 15–20 days.
