Finca El Diviso

Background

El Diviso sits at 1,750m in the mountains of Huila, Colombia, on fertile volcanic soils with a temperate climate that allows slow, even cherry development. The 14-hectare estate was founded by Jose Uribe Lasso and is now run by the next generation — brothers Nestor and Adrian Lasso, partnered with neighbour Jhoan Vergara.

Nestor trained at SENA (Colombia's leading coffee school) and embraced experimental fermentation with support from Cata Export. The farm boasts remarkable variety diversity including distinctive Bourbons such as Ají, Rosado, and Sidra, as well as Geishas.

Global recognition came in 2022 when an El Diviso anaerobic natural Sidra was used to win the World Barista Championship. The Lasso family continues to experiment with processing methods to create unique flavor profiles. Carried by roasters worldwide including Glitch Coffee, Ruby Coffee Roasters, and Cognoscenti.
